The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmonds Information Technology Services (ITS) department has an immediate opening for two Senior Data Scientists to support one of ITS strategic business initiatives. As a member of a data science consulting team, coordinate projects nationwide providing training and insight to teams seeking to perform data science work. Lead engagements with teams across the Federal Reserve System eliciting business requirements and assisting in the design and build out of projects.

Essential Job Responsibilities (including but not limited to the following)
Develop a program to establish large-scale text corpora from unstructured documents and develop solutions that leverage text-mining and natural language processing methodologies to identify, extract and integrate contextual data and concepts in support of Federal Reserves supervision initiatives
Work with data engineer to define and build out the infrastructure required for the processing of large volume of text data
Explore cutting-edge techniques leveraging AI/ML in identifying topic themes and risk signals and make recommendation on methodology and algorithm
Produce regular outputs to communicate to senior leaders about key insights extracted from the text
Work cross-functionally to define problem statements, develop and integrate state-of-the-art text processing methods into our tools and analysis
Understand and implement memory management and computational best practices to efficiently handle Big Data
Communicate effectively with the ability to tailor the message based on the technical breathe of the audience
Be a self-starter, motivated by a passion for developing the best possible solutions to problems
Identify and implement streamlined processes for text data reporting and communication
Use analytical models to identify insights that are used to drive key decisions across the organization
Routinely communicate metrics, trends and other key indicators to senior leadership.
Provide leadership and mentorship to other members of the team
Build and maintain data driven optimization models, experiments, forecasting algorithms and capacity constraint models
Assess information from academic journals, web posts, market sources, and other reports to maintain state-of-the-art knowledge.
Prior experience with Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning algorithms
Experience coding and debugging deep learning neural networks for text processing in PyTorch, Keras and/or TensorFlow.
Experience developing and implementing methods for unsupervised identification of topics, detection of work similarity, document clustering and text summarization
Outstanding written and spoken communication skills, with interpersonal skills to work with all levels of the organization
High level critical thinking and creative problem solving abilities
Strong attention to detail with a high level of data integrity and accuracy
Outstandingprogramming and statistical modeling skills
Expert knowledge with a variety of analytical tools and techniques with the knowledge of when to use them.
3+ years of hands-on experience analyzing and interpreting text data, drawing conclusions, defining recommended actions, and reporting results across diverse stakeholders.
1+ years of experience working with NLP and AI (including experience with TensorFlow or Keras)
2+ years of experience with scripting in Python, C++, or Java
3+ years of experience with packages such as R, Tableau, SAS, etc.
3+ years of experience working with High Performance Computing environments
Experience with Hadoop, Spark, or equivalent parallelization tools
Experience with SQL.
